The Jovenes Solidarios Activos project, funded by Erasmus+ under the Small-scale Partnerships in Youth (KA210-YOU) program, has made significant strides in empowering young people to become active agents of social change. Launched by Food For Life Madrid and its transnational partners, this initiative, running from September 2023 to November 2024, addressed the urgent need to enhance youth engagement and empowerment in social work. With a €30,000 grant, the project fostered active citizenship, social entrepreneurship, and innovative youth work across Europe.

The project’s core objective was to equip young volunteers with essential skills in project management, digital tools, and collaboration with local social policies. By creating a transnational network of organizations, it facilitated the exchange of knowledge and best practices, enriching the work of all partners. Despite challenges, such as the cancellation of an in-person meeting in Latvia due to logistical issues, the team adapted by organizing virtual meetings, ensuring seamless coordination and progress.
A standout achievement was the development of comprehensive training materials, including guides and digital resources, which exceeded initial expectations. These tools not only supported the training of young participants but will also benefit future volunteers, extending the project’s impact beyond its official timeline. By empowering youth and strengthening organizational capacities, Jovenes Solidarios Activos has laid a foundation for sustainable social impact across local and European communities.
